Trigger Finger

A trigger finger is defined as the restriction of an annular ligament at the basis of the finger. The function of the annular ligament is to hold the flexor tendons in place. In the case of a restriction, the flexor tendon can no longer pass through freely. As a result, the affected finger, once it is flexed, can only be stretched with pain (rebound). Whether or not surgery is required can only be determined following personal talks and thorough examinations.
